Strong Dogs Strong Adoptions

Battle Axe Barbell hosted a dog-friendly open gym teaming up to bring adoptable dogs from Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center with the assistance of the volunteers from Friends of Shelter Dogs & Rescues!

5 Dogs had been lined up for the event, but shortly after announcing the VIP (Very Important Pup's) one "Lucy" was adopted switching in the last-minute fill-in Candied Porkbelly who, ALSO ended up being adopted at the event!

Mighty Misterio (Now Axle!) was adopted a week after the event while the other 3 Portia, Kibbles, and Pepper remain at Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center awaiting their happily ever after adoption story!

We want to thank everyone who came out, our amazing VIP handler/volunteers and our gracious host Derrick and Shelley of Battle Axe Barbell! Without you we wouldn't have been able to give these dogs a fun day of strong dog enrichment or helped connect them to their loving homes!
